Today we lowered our flag here at Ashbury showing our respect to the hundreds of people impacted by last night’s shooting tragedy in Las Vegas, especially those families and friends of the men and women who crossed the Great Veil to be with our Lord. We reflect upon the many broken hearts and broken lives which are a result of this senseless, horrific tragedy. At such an awful moment in our country’s history, we take solace in the words of Isaiah, “Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.” (Isaiah 49:13) Our thoughts also turn to Psalms 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” We know without a doubt the Lord will comfort the many who mourn and suffer great affliction in the wake of this tragedy. We raise our prayers to the Heavens for them all. May God bless them and keep them in His tender loving care.
