The SABER Modular Rifle Chassis System was born from a need by shooters to have the same versatility from a bolt gun, that was available from Modern Sporting Rifles (read AR) and more. APO’s design parameters for the SABER rifle chassis were defined by a broad range of dedicated bolt action rifle users.
TACT3’s provide users with a unique height adjustable and detachable mast that allows optics use from the prone up to the sitting position. Yes, you can even remove the mast on selected models and use it as a monopod complete with hardened tip ground spike. TACT3 tripod heads feature either a detachable or hinged (non-detachable) base plate. The EL models have a vertical fine motion control that moves 6 degrees up or down, with one rotation of a separate control knob. Today, the TACT3 is gaining acceptance...
Recently firearms industry writer Gordon Meehl contacted APO about field testing and writing about our SABER® M700™ 6.5 Creedmoor Precision Rifle. Gordon is entering the grueling 4-day Mammoth Sniper Challenge and wanted to take our SABER M700 6.5CM along for the challenge. His article and posts will be from a "first timer's" perspective with him being new to the practical-tactical rifle sports.
APO Custom Shop client Britton, an experienced and accomplished hunter out in Montana, offered to field test APO's SABER M700 Sport-TAC rifle chambered in .30-06 this hunting season. He’s got tags for big game and predators which are a great match for the .30-06 Sport-TAC! In 2016 Britton cleanly harvested a nice Montana Big Horn Sheep at 388 yards and a Pronghorn Antelope in 2017 at 596 yards both with his APO custom built SPR-300WM precision rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum.
This rifle engaged targets from 100-1116 yards with ease, placing sub ½ MOA accuracy on target with a team that understands rapid wind calls. Our Instructors fired the rifle and each was extremely impressed with the Surgeon action, trigger and overall feel of the rifle platform. The impression was a lasting one. I absolutely fell in love with this rifle and will highly recommend this as a proven platform that gets the job done in a very accurate fashion
For the first time ever, retired USMC Major and past NRA Secretary Edward J. "Jim" Land Jr. is lending his name and his signature to a custom tactical rifle, along with his personal involvement in the design and testing of the firearms. Soon, Friends of NRA supporters will have the chance to own one of 50 limited-edition SABER®-M700™ Major E.J. Land Signature Edition Tactical Rifles created by the Ashbury Precision Ordnance (APO) Custom Shop and Precision Weapons Section.
Jim Gilliland of Shadow 6 Consulting has discussed with us the merits of a short barreled .308 caliber rifle for tactical law enforcement. Jim has a considerable professional background on the use and application of .308 sniper rifles and feels strongly that barrels longer than 20” (except in long range shooting applications) are more cumbersome and heavier than need be for a given use. In fact, he’s a serious advocate for a 16.5" precision rifle fed with the “appropriate” ammunition. Jim suggests su...
The SPR-308 is a rugged precision rifle designed to produce optimum accuracy with 150 to 200 grain projectiles for a variety of precision shooting pursuits. The rifle is a standard right-hand configuration, with a left-hand model available. The SPR-308 features a one-piece monolithic 20 MOA 12 o’clock top rail with rail space for a “co-aligned” day optic, clip on night vision or thermal imaging device. The SABER MRCS one-piece monolithic rail provides unparalleled platform rigidity, yielding consistent s...
Dubbed the “Working Man’s Sport Utility Rifle” by my editor, I set out to prove the worthiness of Ashbury Precision Ordnance’s SABER M700 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor “against predators of the four- and two-legged variety.” The likelihood of the zombie apocalypse kicking off this week is rather low, so I’ll primarily stick with the much more likely scenario of giving a coyote a dirt nap.
Exceptional shooting performance over the long haul attested to by year-long field evaluation at Sniper's Hide as well as results of putting over 2,000 rounds down range with APO rifles by Junior Shooters team.
