The APO SABER M700 is a wallet-friendly rifle with high-dollar performance. Unlike most rifles at the $2,000 price point, the M700 SABER is not one your skill set will easily outgrow. Designed by APO to be highly modular and customizable, pretty much every piece of the Saber can be swapped out to meet the shooter’s skill and/or specific needs WITHOUT requiring special tools or searching for a skilled gunsmith. A set of Allen keys and a torque driver is pretty much all you need to upgrade your rifle.
Recently firearms industry writer Gordon Meehl contacted APO about field testing and writing about our SABER® M700™ 6.5 Creedmoor Precision Rifle. Gordon is entering the grueling 4-day Mammoth Sniper Challenge and wanted to take our SABER M700 6.5CM along for the challenge. His article and posts will be from a "first timer's" perspective with him being new to the practical-tactical rifle sports.
For the first time ever, retired USMC Major and past NRA Secretary Edward J. "Jim" Land Jr. is lending his name and his signature to a custom tactical rifle, along with his personal involvement in the design and testing of the firearms. Soon, Friends of NRA supporters will have the chance to own one of 50 limited-edition SABER®-M700™ Major E.J. Land Signature Edition Tactical Rifles created by the Ashbury Precision Ordnance (APO) Custom Shop and Precision Weapons Section.
Dubbed the “Working Man’s Sport Utility Rifle” by my editor, I set out to prove the worthiness of Ashbury Precision Ordnance’s SABER M700 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor “against predators of the four- and two-legged variety.” The likelihood of the zombie apocalypse kicking off this week is rather low, so I’ll primarily stick with the much more likely scenario of giving a coyote a dirt nap.
Exceptional shooting performance over the long haul attested to by year-long field evaluation at Sniper's Hide as well as results of putting over 2,000 rounds down range with APO rifles by Junior Shooters team.
Congratulations to Cameron Burke (18) and Brock Lueddeke (15) Junior Division 1st Place Champions at the recent Snipers Hide Cup Team Challenge in Coleville WA. The boys are members of the Junior Shooters Magazine Precision Rifle Team organized and directed by Andy Fink Publisher.
This year’s deer season was a very special one. My grandpa took all of us grandkids hunting. This was the first year all five of us were old enough to hunt deer, with my youngest cousin Brenett finally coming of age. Throughout the season each kid got to go out at different times to an area where the deer were plentiful. The youngest kids, my brother Jack and my cousin Brenett shot their first bucks this season, and my grandpa was there to share in the adventure and their excitement!
